Visa Enquiries
Entry Visa
Some of you may require a valid Singapore entry visa to travel to, and seek entry, into Singapore.
Visit the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) website
here to find out which country requires an Entry Visa into Singapore.
Entry via Social Visit Pass (SVP)
A student who is attending one two-week course of study only, with a duration of 30 days or less, would be able to enter Singapore for the duration of the course on a Social Visit Pass (SVP). However, if the nationality of the student falls under the list of countries of that require an Entry Visa, they are required to apply for it at the ICA website first. Visit the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) website here to find out whether you are of a nationality which requires an Entry Visa into Singapore.
The SVP will be issued and stamped on the student's passport upon his/her entry into Singapore at the airport customs.
Entry via Student Pass (STP)
Students attending a course of study with a duration of more than 30 days (applies to those on the 4-week and 6-week summer programme or if you are taking both 2-week courses) would require a Student's Pass. You will be issued with an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter by ICA through NTU should your Student's Pass application be approved. You will also be informed by NTU should your application be rejected by ICA.
If you require an Entry Visa to enter Singapore, the entry visa will be incorporated in the IPA letter. Therefore, you do not need to apply for a separate visa, and may enter Singapore by producing the IPA letter at the Singapore checkpoints.
Students are then required to bring their IPA letter (bearing the NTU official stamp) to convert it into a Student Pass at ICA, by making an online appointment in ICA Website once they are in Singapore. The online booking procedures will be stipulated in the IPA letter.
You may refer to the following
website for more detailed information and the cost of each application.
*Note: Students are advised to arrange their flights only after their student pass application has been approved.
